Welcome to the 2026–2027 School Year!
Dear Lackland ISD Families and Students, Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year! I hope you all enjoyed a wonderful, relaxing summer. Whether you are returning to our district or joining us for the very first time, we are absolutely thrilled to welcome you to the Lackland ISD family. It has been a busy and productive summer on our campuses. Our teachers and staff enjoyed some well-deserved rest, engaged in professional development to bring fresh ideas into the classroom, and prepared inspiring learning spaces for our students. We have also welcomed several talented new staff members to both our elementary and junior-senior high school teams who are eager to make this year exceptional. To our military families: thank you for your service and dedication to our country. We recognize the unique opportunities and challenges that come with military life, and we are deeply honored that you have entrusted us with your child’s education. Our commitment is to provide a nurturing, high-quality learning environment where your child can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Key Things to Know as We Begin:
We are entering this year with great enthusiasm, high expectations, and a dedicated team ready to support every student. Together, we will learn as much as we can, celebrate every success, and make memories along the way. Let’s make this our best school year yet! Respectfully, Dr. Burnie L. Roper Superintendent of Schools ![]() |
